TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1, Saturday, April 12: Depart USA for San Francisco (D)

golden-gateEarly morning departure from Montauk to New York’s JFK Airport for San Francisco. Mid-day arrival in San Francisco. Transfer to your hotel in the beautiful Pacific Heights section of San Francisco. Time to relax before enjoying a hosted wine hour. We then leave for the San Francisco Piers to board our three-hour Supper Club cruise on the scenic San Francisco Bay including views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay lights. There will be a buffet dinner, welcome drink, DJ entertainment and dancing all included in your welcome evening. Then it’s off to MONARCH, San Francisco’s hottest Club where you will be welcomed with a complementary drink. Spend the rest of the evening relaxing, dancing and enjoying the SFO nightlife. Return to the hotel on your own.

Day 2, Sunday, April 13: In San Francisco – City Tour, Sausalito & Muir Woods (L)

Cable_CarAfter breakfast on your own, a full day of touring as you start the morning city tour. Join us and explore this most culturally diverse and beautiful of cities. Your guided journey will highlight famous landmarks and familiarize you with the unique sociology of San Francisco including the Victorian houses, Union Square, Nob Hill, Cable Cars, Chinatown, North Beach, Fisherman’s Wharf, The Presidio, Golden Gate Park, Twin Peaks and more. Then North across the Golden Gate Bridge to two of California’s most unique tourist attractions. First we stop in Sausalito, an alluring village of art galleries, quaint shops and waterfront restaurants with views of San Francisco across the bay. Its cliff-hanging cottages and houseboat community lean a Mediterranean ambiance, but the locals you will see are pure California. We will have lunch here. Then we continue to Marin County, one of the most affluent counties in the United States, and home to one of the few remaining groves of Virgin Coastal Redwoods. These redwoods are among the oldest and tallest trees in existence. The Nature Trail at Muir Woods leads us into the heart of its cathedral-like grove. We have a guided walk among this beautiful forest before returning to our hotel where we have the evening on our own to try some of the great SFO restaurants.

Day 3, Monday, April 14: In San Francisco

A full day free for independent. Do some shopping. Ride SFO’s cable trolley cars, Try great dim sum in one of Chinatown’s restaurants. Take an excursion to Alcatraz or visit some of the city’s wonderful museums. Dinner on your own from some of RMC’s favorite recommended restaurants.

Day 4, Tuesday, April 15: To Las Vegas

This morning we transfer to the airport for the short flight to the “City that never sleeps,” Las Vegas. On arrival, transfer to our hotel for the rest of day on your own as Las Vegas comes alive when the sun goes down. Enjoy the star-studded shows, great dining, and of course, the thrill of the slot machines, roulette wheel or blackjack tables.

Day 5, Wednesday, April 16: In Las Vegas

Las_vegas_stripA free day to get an in-depth look at the avant-garde Las Vegas. Go to some of the excellent museums. Or simply walk the “Strip” visiting the many exciting hotels. Maybe take in a show you missed your first night. Or take an optional Las Vegas by Night tour to see all of yesterday and today’s famous mega casino resorts and attractions and get the inside story on how Las Vegas earned the title of Entertainment Capital of the World! First stop of the night will be at the famous Welcome to Las Vegas sign. Stop and visit the Bellagio Hotel and see the famous Conservatory and Dancing Waters Fountain Show. Madame Tussaud’s at the Venetian and no tour would be complete without a stop at the incredible Downtown Fremont Street Experience.

Day 6, Thursday, April 17 – Depart for the Hoover Dam & the Grand Canyon (L/D)

Grand_CanyonWe depart Vegas by coach and head south, with our first stop at the Hoover Dam, one of the greatest engineering feats of America’s history. Then continue on the longest continuous part of historic Route 66 still driveable from Kingman to Seligman. We will stop at a great historic general store: the Hackberry General Store — at Hackberry, AZ that everyone really enjoys At Seligman, Route 66 is the major part of the town with evidence of the glory days of the old road seen all along the main street where we will have lunch at the famed 66 Road Kill. Here you will leave historic Route 66 and travel on the Interstate. At Williams, AZ we leave the Interstate and follow the historic Grand Canyon Railroad route for part of the way the last 65 miles to the Grand Canyon and enter the National Park entrance gate. Walk over to Mather Point for your first view of the Grand Canyon. Next viewpoint if Yavapai Point. After we check into our hotel, we will walk over to the El Tovar restaurant for the sunset over the Canyon, before enjoying dinner at this historic hotel. Overnight in the National Park.

Day 7, Friday, April 18: Morning Grand Canyon Tour. Afternoon to Sedona (B/L/D)

Sedona_AZ-1Morning tour of the Grand Canyon. The views are breathtaking to say the least. Our guide will provide an orientation at the Canyon from the lookout area behind the Bright Angel Lodge. Next you will tour the 23-mile tour along the East Rim with stops at Grandview, the Tusayan Ruins and Desert View. At Tusayan Ruins we will take a one-way 1¾ -mile rim walk & to see fossils of a 230 million year old tropical coral reef. At either Grandview, Bright Angel or Desert View, we take out scopes and binoculars to spot the extremely endangered California Condors in this part of the Canyon. Box lunch is served either along the rim of the canyon or at the Anasazi ruins. Then continue to Sedona. The energy of Sedona’s famous vortexes and the spectacular natural beauty of Sedona’s red rocks combine to make Sedona, Arizona one the Top 100 Places to Visit in the World. After we check into our hotel, in the late afternoon it’s time for some four-wheeling on a Red Rock Jeep Tour as you go over the red rocks while the magnificent canyon walls surround us. We end our trek with a great Cowboy/Cowgirl Bar-B-Que dinner. Late return to our hotel.

Day 8, Saturday, April 19

Departure to the airport for your flights back home. Same day arrival and back to Montauk.
