“Live Like an Italian” Holiday

Italy… When you think of Italy, images of sparkling beaches, Roman statues, and mouthwatering pizza likely come to mind. And if you’ve never been, you want to know if it’s a country worth visiting. Recent statistics have named it the fifth most visited country in the world.

Italy is home to rich history with incredible art and architecture, along with breathtaking coastal and mountainous landscapes. No matter which area you travel to, you immerse yourself in its unique culture of delicious food, welcoming people and simple way of living.

Your “Live Like an Italian” holiday will be in the medieval town of Ceriana, a 1,500-year-old village founded between 979 and 1146 and about 25 minutes north of the beautiful Italian Mediterranean resort of San Remo.

Located in the province of Imperia, Ceriana, from Latin Coeliana (name given by the family Celii, founder of the village), is a situated in the hinterland of Liguria on the steep slopes of a hill, a place where time has stood still. It was a Roman military settlement, chosen for its strategic location and the conformation of the territory.

The stone houses, connected to each other seamlessly, high and narrow, seem to rise directly from the rock, and integrate perfectly with the surrounding territory, as if they were created by nature itself. It has numerous stone steps which often show continuity with those inside the houses. There are large squares, but tiny spaces between the buildings.

It is rich with oratories, rustic and votive chapels, and offers visitors the beauty of its baroque and Romanesque churches…a perfect place to “Live Like an Italian” and to enjoy Italy’s rich heritage.
